We have refreshed our training offer for teaching assistants

We are working in partnership with the University of London Institute of Education to deliver an effective programme of training and support for Hampshire schools. Take a look at our new courses:

  • SSTP0023 - Role of the Teaching Assistant as scaffolder. How to encourage pupils to take an active role in interactions.

  • SSTP0024 - Scaffolding Strategies for Teaching Assistants. Introduces the principles of and effective strategies for teaching assistant’s practice in scaffolding. 

  • SSTP0025 - Assessment for Learning – how Teaching Assistants can provide valuable feedback for teachers and pupils.  Explores effective assessment for learning practice by Teaching Assistants

  • SSTP0026 - Teaching Assistant’s role in effective group work. Outlines good practice in group work

  • SSTP0027 - Teaching Assistants role in delivering intervention programmes.  Explores when interventions are used and how Teaching Assistants can ensure their practice contributes to interventions being successful.
